Head Coach Labbadia names 23-man squad for Super Eagles Afcon 2025 qualifying clash against Benin Republic and Rwanda

WED AUG 28 2024-theGBJournal|The new Super Eagles Head Coach, Bruno Labbadia has called up striker Victor Osimhen, Taiwo Awoniyi and Ademola Lookman for the up coming crunch clash Afcon 2025 qualifying clash against Benin Republic and Rwanda.

The German tactician squad for ties include Kelechi Iheanocho, Victor Boniface, Samuel Chukwueze and Moses Simon-all named as forwards in the 23-man squad.

Stanley Nwabali, Maduka Okoye and Amos Omoroge are included as goalkeepers while William Ekong, sami Ajayi, Calvin Bassey, Olisa Ndah, versatile left back, Ola Aina as well as Bright Osayi and Bruno Onyemaechi are called up as defenders.

The midfielders included in the squad are Alex Iwobi, Franj Onyeka, Alhasan Yusuf, Wilfred Ndidi Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Raphael Onyedika.

Labbadia, the 37th Head Coach of the Nigeria Super Eagles squad is expected to guide the Super Eagles for two 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Benin Republic and Rwanda with four other matches to conclude the qualifying race in October and November.

Recall that the Nigeria Football Federation appointed Labbadia-58 years-oild- on Tuesday as Head Coach for the Super Eagles
