FRI, APRIL 12 2019-theG&BJournal- GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Nigeria Plc (GKS) have announced the selection of Fidson Healthcare Plc (Fidson), a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Nigeria, as its preferred local content manufacturing partner.
The announcement today follows changes in GSK consumer Healthcare supply chain operating model. According to GSK, the partnership is subject to the meeting of appropriate regulatory requirements.
With the deal, GSK will be transitioning the manufacturing of its wellness and respiratory products in the first instance to Fidson from Q3 2021.
‘’Until then it would be business as usual at the Agbara Factory as GSK continues to ensure supply continuity for all its locally manufactured brands,’’ GSK said.
GSK said that in choosing Fidson it believes that the partnership would help build and sustain local expertise, technical knowledge and improve local production capacities.
Earlier in the month, GSK Board said the restructuring of its supply chain operating model will allow it build a more sustainable commercial business as well as enable it continue with its ongoing efforts in supporting access to GSK consumer health products.
