TUE JUNE 17 2025-theGBJournal| Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri today launched the Bayelsa E-Commerce Entrepreneurship Programme (BEEP 2025) as part of the M-POWER initiative at the DSP Alamieyeseigha Banquet Hall, Yenagoa.

The programme aims to empower 500 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the digital/online economy.

Governor Diri, in his remark, expressed gratitude to his Special Adviser on Investment, Mrs. Owanari Harry, for her innovative approach in implementing the government’s vision for e-commerce.

He encouraged Bayelsa youths to adopt this new paradigm, leveraging the opportunities in the digital economy.

The government also provided interest-free loans to two local entrepreneurs, Tare Robinson Korumene, CEO of ECO FIP Nigeria Limited, with N240 million, and Winsome Tariere Dan-Adere, with N500 million, to support the establishment and growth of their businesses.

While Tare is using plantain stem to make braids, Tariere is turning wastes into wealth.

“We have been doing so much, and today is a new dimension. And so, I would like to appreciate my special adviser on investment, I keep telling all my appointees, ingenuity, and creativity. You must be creative.

I’m very happy to attend this program and be rest assured that we are going to partner with NITDA and every other federal government agency that we need to partner with so that we will not only be physically selling goods and services we will be selling them online.

My dear Bayelsa youths, our way to go is this way”, Governor Diri stated.
