THUR 21 OCT, 2021-theGBJournal- Former U.S. President (Republican) Donald Trump is launching a new social media media networking platform-TRUTH Social- where he plans to share his thoughts with the world.
In announcing his plan, Trump who was banned on Twitter and Facebook earlier this year, said ‘’we live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favourite American President has been silenced. This is unacceptable. I am excited to send out my first TRUTH on Truth Social very soon.’’
Guests are expected to be invited to start testing Truth Social in November, and the site will officially launch in 2022.
Trump also announced that he is forming a new company named Trump Media & Technology Group, born out of a merger agreement between Trump Media & Technology Group and Digital World Acquisition.
The company is going to be listed on Nasdaq and has attracted an initial valuation of about US$700 million.
Trump was banned from Twitter and Facebook on accusations that he incited the riots and invasion of the U.S. Capitol in Washington on January 6.
