SUN JULY 14 2024-theGBJournal|The former U.S. President Donald Trump was nearly assassinated overnight Saturday in a rally at Butler, Pennsylvania.

Trump said ”I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear,” after security agents whisked him off stage following the multiple shots that left 2 people dead, including the shooter along with one bystander.

Trump was swiftly moved by secret service agents to a black SUV, and taken to a local hospital, according to Trump campaign officials.

”I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin,” Trump, added on his Truth Social site.

”I just spoke to my father on the phone and he is in great spirits. He will never stop fighting to Save America, no matter what the radical left throws at him,” Donald Trump Junior said shortly after the shooting.

The U.S President Joe Biden responded immediately to the attempt, condemning it alongside several world leaders even as some Republican Party members blamed him for the campaign violence.

UK Prime Minister said political violence in any form has no place in our societies.

”I am appalled by the shocking scenes at President Trump’s rally and we send him and his family our best wishes,” he adds.

Indian Prime Minister wrote on his X handle that he is ”deeply concerned by the attack on my friend, former President Donald Trump. ”Strongly condemn the incident. Violence has no place in politics and democracies,” he said.

Republican lawmakers said they would launch swift investigations into how a snipper managed to evade Secret Service agents and climb onto the roof of a building near where the former President, Donald Trump was speaking at an election rally and fire multiple shots before being killed.

Meanwhile, authorities say they have ”tentatively identified” the shooter, but have no reason to believe the threat was ongoing.

Special Agent Kevin Rojek said in a press conference they are close to identifying the shooter. ”We are working feverishly to confirm,” he adds.
