Former President Jonathan arrives Seoul, South Korea ahead of World Summit 2025 and formal presentation of the 2025 Sunhak Peace Prize

THUR APRIL 10 2025-theGBJournal| Former President Goodluck Jonathan arrived Seoul, South Korea, Thursday afternoon ahead of the World Summit 2025 and the formal presentation of the 2025 Sunhak Peace Prize.

Goodluck Jonathan in March 2025, won the 2025 Sunhak Peace Prize Award to become the first African leader and third person to win the prestigious award.

The Prize Committee said Jonathan is being honoured with Prize because of his consistent mediations and pro-democracy activities to bring peace throughout Africa.

”I thank the Korean Government, Nigerian Embassy officials as well as the Sunhak Peace Foundation and the Universal Peace Federation (UPF), organisers of the programmes, for their kind courtesies and warm reception,” Presdient Jonathan said as he was received by Korean Government, Nigerian Embassy officials on arrival in Seoul.

The Peace Award was established in honour of the legacy of Sun Myung Moon, the founder of Unification Church, and it is awarded biennialy in Seoul, South Korea.

The Award ceremony takes place Friday in Seoul where Jonathan and other laureates will be decorated.
