TUE, 10 MAY, 2022-theGBJournal | Former President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, 64, has denied he has any presidential ambition for now and subtly denounced the group that claimed they have purchased the Presidential Nomination and Expression of Interest forms, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in his name.
‘’We wish to categorically state that Dr. Jonathan was not aware of this bid and did not authorize it,’’ Ikechukwu Eze, his Media Adviser said in statement made available to theGBJournal late Monday.
Mr Eze added, ‘’while we appreciate the overwhelming request by a cross-section of Nigerians, for Dr. Jonathan to make himself available for the 2023 Presidential election, we wish to state that he has not in any way, committed himself to this request.’’
Dr. Jonathan was President on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform from 2010 to 2015. He was defeated by President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2015 General Elections.
Shortly after the Elections he founded the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation, a foundation that promotes democracy, peace and transformational change in Africa.
