MON, JUNE 12 2023-theGBJournal |Former Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi, a media tycoon with assets in television and print has died aged 86.
Italian news agency Ansa reported the death of the flamboyant media mogul and longest-serving postwar prime minster Monday.
He served as prime minister of Italy in four governments from 1994 to 1995, 2001 to 2006 and 2008 to 2011.
Berlusconi who owned A. C milan from 1986 to 2017, was embroiled in sex scandals and corruption allegations througtout his active days in politics.
He led the centre-right Italia party which went into coalition under Prime Minister Giogia Meloni after September elections, when he was elected to Italy’s Senate.
In April he was reportedly down with lung infection linked to a previuosly undisclosed case of chronic leukaemia.
He died at the San Raffaele hospital in Milan.
