THUR 17 MARCH, 2022-theGBJournal| Former Governor of Nigeria’s Central Bank, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, 61, has taken his oath of Office as the 6th democratically elected governor of Anambra State, Nigeria, promising to protect the financial and economic interests of the people of the state.
‘’I commit to accountable and judicious use of your taxes,’’ he assured while delivering his inauguration speech today in Awka, the state capital.
Prominent indigenes of the State said his arrival as governor is a ‘’new dawn in Anambra State,’’ with many expressing hope that the new governor will deliver the ‘’dividends of democracy,’’ to them.
‘’It is my hope and prayer that you’ll deploy your expertise and experience to impact Anambra State and, by extension Nigeria,’’ former PDP flag bearer Atiku Abubakar, posted on his Twitter page while congratulating Soludo.
The much respected economist won the State’s governorship election last November as the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) , winning 19 of the 21 local government areas of the state on his party’s ticket and declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
