First Friendship Conference holds in Africa as convener launches ‘Building Forever Friendships’ book

THUR, AUGUST 17 2023-theGBJournal |The first ever friendship conference in Africa held on the 30th of July 2023 – the International Day of Friendship in Regal Hall, Annexe 1, Oregun Ikeja Lagos Nigeria recently to cast searchlight on the values of good friendship and the need to uphold such values, especially factoring how social media platforms seem to be replacing meaningful interactions and relationships now.

The Friendship Conference, which serves as a beacon of hope, was convened by Building Forever Friendships(BFF) Lifestyle Community spearheaded by Adetoun Jegede, who also launched her new book entitled ‘Building Forever Friendships’ at the same event.

Jegede, who is the author of the book and convener of the conference, said: “The BFF book is a valuable toolkit on navigating friendships, written and captured with simplicity and insight. It takes the readers through the journey of building and sustaining friendships, the value of solid friendships, choosing your core circle, navigating conflicts in friendship, etc. I have put my heart into this project, and I cannot wait for you to read this book.”

On the flag-off of the historic conference, she stated: “The Friendship Conference is a strategic platform for making meaningful connections and strengthening already existing relationships, especially with the crop of speakers and panelists from various walks of life, who shared their experiences. It also had key networking opportunities, games, etc”.

Conference attendees had the chance to explore the power of genuine friendships in shaping a harmonious world as emphasis was laid on how good relationships promote collective peace.

The keynote speaker for the BFF conference was Ituah Ighodalo, a renown nation builder and social reformer and it also featured other eminent speakers and influencers from various sectors such as: Morenike Molehin, Ogochukwu Mba, Abiola Olukunle, Dolapo Ajayi, Laju Iren, Akah Nnani, Tobi Icon Oreoluwa, Tunde TNT Morolari, Yomi Amoussa, Mrs. Adaobi Okolo, Mrs. Joy Alexander-Oziegbe,Mojibade Sosanya, Deborah Oguike, Ifeyinwa Onwuakagba, and electrifying guest artists like Ademola Makinde, AnendlessOcean, Izee Smith and Spoken word artist Ore Macaulay.

The conference and book launch event was open to participants of all ages, backgrounds, and professions who share a common passion for building a more compassionate and interconnected world.
