First batch of Nigerian evacuees from Sudan arrive Abuja

THUR, MAY. 04 2023-theGBJournal|The first batch of Nigerians who fled war-torn Sudan arrived via military jet C130 at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at about 2340HRS today, with an estimate of 376 evacuees.

Mostly Nigerian students, the evacuees were airlifted from Aswan AirPort after the Nigerian Embassy officials successfully moved all of them from the Sudan side to the Egypt side of the Arqeel border, with priority given to the females.

Meanwhile, Air Peace wide-body Boeing 777 with registration Number 5N-BVE is in Egypt already to help the evacuation effort.
