Zuriel’s latest documentary film “Follow The Ball” for education screened before scores of young women at the Moses Mabhida stadium in central Durban city

MON, JULY 23 2018-theG&BJournal-Durban International Film Festival has opened in South Africa’s third largest city, and women are expected to make a great showing at this year’s event. Fifteen year old Los Angeles native Zuriel Oduwole was a special guest at the opening night, in her capacity as one of the world’s youngest film makers today.

Three days earlier as part of Mandela’s centenary being celebrated across the country with events including a speech by Barack Obama, Zuriels latest documentary film “Follow The Ball” for education screened before scores of young women at the Moses Mabhida stadium in central Durban city.

The venue for the screening is symbolic because it hosted matches during the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Zuriels current film is the story of ONE girl taking TWO footballs across THREE continents and stopping in FIVE countries, to get the world talking about Girls Education. It began shooting in Brazil, during the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
