SUN 27 FEB, 2022-theGBJournal- The Federal Government of Nigeria said it is making necessary arrangements for the evacuation of Nigerians stranded in Ukraine, through the Embassy in Warsaw, Poland, and is urging those affected to present their destination address with border control.
‘’Nigerian Embassy staff, along with volunteers, will be at the Polish borders with buses and vans to pick up Nigerians from the crossing border points and locations in Hrebenne-Rawa Ruska, Korezowa-Krakowiec, Medyka-Szegginie and Budomierz-Hurszew,’’ the FG said in a statement Saturday.
Abike Dabiri, Chairman/CEO of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission in a taped video message posted on Twitter reminded Nigerians stranded in Ukraine of the four recommended border crossings and contact details of the volunteers and Embassy Staff.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs had earlier in the past week been reassured by the Nigerian Embassy in Ukraine of the safety of Nigerians in that country and of the measures been undertaken to keep them safe and facilitate the evacuation of those willing to leave.
