WED, 04 NOV, 2020-theGBJournal-The Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Benue, Oyo, Nasarawa and Kwara States were named beneficiaries of a N87.53 billion road construction funding approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday.
Both the Minister of Works and Housing Babatunde Fashola and the Minister of the FCT, Mohammed Bello addressed the media on the outcome of the FEC meeting and they gave insight on the roads requiring attention in both the FCT and the States mentioned.
Bello said the Council approved the award of contract for the full scope development of the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua way to the Northern Expressway.
Fashola, during the briefing said the council approved a variation of N47.507 billion for the completion of the 52 kilometers Oyo-Ogbomosho highway. The variation, according to him takes the total contract sum to N105.041 billion. Another N9.348 billion was also approved as variation for the completion of the Lokko-Oweta Bridge linking Nasarawa to Benue State. The variation means that the total contract for the road project is now N50.961 billion instead of N51.621 billion.
