The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (FCTMPWB) has approved N1,032,068 with a Basic Travel Allowance (BTA) of 750 dollars as minimum fare for 2016 Hajj, while N1,081,318 with 1,000 dollars BTA is medium fare.
The Board’s Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Muhammad Aliyu, made this known in a statement made available on Thursday in Abuja.
Aliyu said the maximum category for this year’s Hajj would be N1,179,818, with 1,500 dollars BTA.
He stated that intending pilgrims from the FCT for 2016 Hajj have up to June 24 to complete payment, noting that the deadline was necessary in order for the Board to ensure payment to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
He urged intending pilgrims who were yet to submit their completed application forms and e-passports to do so before the deadline, saying
that the Board would soon commence the process of acquiring visa from the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Abuja.
The image maker added that the Board had set machineries in motion toward successful Hajj and had since acquired befitting accommodation
for the pilgrims in Macca.
The accommodation was made in such a way that pilgrims from the territory perform their five daily prayers in Haram with less stress.
Aliyu said that the Board would soon conduct education and orientation exercises at the FCT Hajj Camp with a view to ensuring that intending pilgrims
got “value for their money.“
He then advised intending pilgrims to avail themselves the opportunity as new policies on Hajj would be taught during the orientation.
