TUE 13 JULY, 2021-theGBJournal- FCMB Board of Directors today announced the appointment of Mrs Yemisi Edun, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Accountants of Nigeria, as the new managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of its largest subsidiary, First City Monument Bank Limited effective May 1, 2021. Her appointment follows the approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and she succeeds Mr Adam Nuru.
Prior her appointment, Mrs Edun was the Executive Director and Chief Financial of the bank and previously served as the Acting Managing Director.
‘’The Board is confident that her appointment as Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of the Bank will no doubt be of great value to the entire FCMB Group,’’ the Bank said in a notification of the appointment to the NGX.
According to the Bank, the appointment is subsequent to end of service of the Bank’s former Managing Director, Adam Nuru.
The Bank said also that the Board had earlier reviewed media allegations made in late 2020 against the former Managing Director and did not establish any contravention of its policies and offered their appreciation for his years ‘’of dedicated service to the Bank.
