SAT, 14 NOV, 2020-theGBJournal-Largest German airline, Lufthansa has been approved to resume operations to Nigeria.
Sources familiar with the development say December flights are already bookable while they work towards reinstating some flights in November. Further detail is expected to be announced on Tuesday.
Nigeria suspended both local and international flights in May 2020, a move intended to contain the spread of coronavirus in the country. The ban affected many carriers from the European Union (EU) including Germany.
In August 2020, the principle of reciprocity was enforced in response to ban placed on flights emanating from Nigeria.
And September 2020, most major airlines were allowed back into Nigeria airspace, ending the no flight restriction on countries deemed coronavirus hotspot.
