EURO 2020: Rugged Italy beat Austria in extra time to book a Q/Final place

SUN 27 JUNE, 2021-theGBJournal- Substitutes Federico Chieza and Mateo Pessina scored in extra time at the Wembley Stadium London, England to send Italy into the quarter final of the EURO 2020.

Sasa Kalajdzic pulled one back for Austria after a terrific header from a near impossible angle in the 114th minute.

The Austrians came with pace, tenacity and concentration. Italy matched the pace and added speed to their intensity.

Austria’s captain David Alaba summed up their day. ‘’We can be proud of ourselves. Austria can be proud of us.’’
