SUN 11 JULY, 2021-theGBJournal- With a half volley, Luke Shaw scored the fastest ever goal in the EURO Championship Final,  less than two minutes into the game to send Wembley Stadium rocking. Every English touch was cheered by the over 60,000 fans since the goal.

Italy pressed afterwards, making sure England progressed no further than the half way up the field, holding possession for more than 30 of the 45 minutes of the first half. Italy sustained the pressure.

The English Lions looking for their first EUROs title squandered their chances while Italy smarting from their failure to qualify for the last World Cup, believed.

In the 67th minute, Italy’s Leonardo Bonucci struck, converting a rebound from Jordan Pickford’s save from Verratti’s blind header. Italy are level-1-1. Italian fans go wild. The rest of Wembley fall into sombre silence.

The brawl stretched into extra time, and after 120 minutes of pulsating, fine attacking football, Italy completed the Italian job 3-2 on penalties to lift the trophy.
