WED, 25 NOV, 2020-theGBJournal-The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Wednesday hailed the resolution if the British Parliament to impose travel and visa restriction on officials of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s led All Progressives Party (APC) government, calling also on the United Nations (UN), and other international bodies to immediately list indicted officials of the government for the what it called ‘’the widespread crime against humanity going on in our country in the last five years.’’
The PDP in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan and seen by theGBJournal, urged the British Government to extend the proposed sanction to include freezing of assets and funds belonging to such officials and their families in the United Kingdom.
The opposition party also called on U.S, France, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa among others to impose similar sanctions against indicted officials of the President Buhari administration for ‘’human rights violations and crime against humanity.’’
‘’Sanctions should also be imposed on officials indicted for undermining our democracy and electoral systems,’’ the Party said.
