WED, JUNE 28 2023-theGBJournal |The Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Sani Uba noted Tuesday that the Eid-El-Kabir celebration is taking place at a time when the State and its citizens are being challenged individually and collectively to buckle up and make huge contributions to the rebuilding of the country,
”It is also a time for soul searching for the good people of Kaduna State. This celebration offers us a unique opportunity to rebuild communal trust and resume the arduous task of reviving our local economies,” the Governor said in his congratulatory message to Muslim celebrating the Eid-El-Kabir.
The Governor said his administration is committed to delivering on its promises to the ”good people” of Kaduna State.
”In a short time from now, we shall commence our rural transformation drive. It shall be all embracing and extensive,” he said, promising that the economies of the rural communities will be revived through massive infrastructural development.
”We shall adopt the bottom – up, inclusive approach. Key stakeholders will be fully involved in this task. But we require peace and stability for us to realize our vision. Our troubled communities must experience peace again. For this to happen, we need to step back and ask ourselves some hard questions.”
According to the Governor, the Eid-El-Kabir is a festival of sacrifice and thanksgiving to the Almighty Allah for his wonderful deeds in our lives.
”We adore Him for making us part of the living in this difficult and challenging times. We shall remain faithful to Him now and forever.”
The Governor also reiterted the need for peace to reign in the State, saying that his administration has initiated dialogue with key stakeholders on the key challenges facing Kaduna State and the pathway to sustainable peace, progress and development.
”We had fruitful meetings with Local Government Chairmen, Traditional Rulers and Top Members of the Judiciary. It is an ongoing process. Religious Leaders are the next in line for strategic engagement. They play a critical role in the moral development of citizens and the peace and security of our communities. It is through cooperation and partnership that we can achieve the goals of our administration.”
He commended the security agencies and community leaders for the progress so far made in restoring peace to some of our troubled communities.
”We must however redouble our efforts to ensure that peace and stability returns to virtually all communities in Kaduna State. It is achievable. We can do it,” he said.
