THUR, OCT 26 2023-theGBJournal|Ex-EFCC Chairman Abdulrasheed Bawa has been released by the Department of State Service (DSS) without a charge after 130 days in Custody.
Bawa was released Wednesday, at about 10pm, and was seen around jubilating family members and friends after leaving the national headquarters of the State Security agency in Abuja.
He was arrested on June 14 shortly after his suspension from office by President Bola Tinubu, with no specific reasons given by the agency for his arrest.
Then Director, Public Relations and Strategic Communications of the DSS National Headquarters, Peter Afunanya confirmed the release of Bawa in a brief statement on X saying, ”DSS confirms release of former EFCC Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, a few hours ago (25th October, 2023)”.
