MON JAN 20 2025-theGBJournal| Donald J. Trump, 78, has been sworn-in, today, Martin Luther King Jr Day, as the 47th President of the United States of America.

Trump was the 45th President of the United States from 2017 to 2021.

”The Golden Age of America begins right now” Trump declared shortly after been sworn-in in a ceremony moved inside to the U.S Capitol Rotunda because of extreme, freezing weather for the first time since Ronald Reagan’s second inauguration in 1985.

”America will flourish and be respected again all over the world,” President Trump said while announcing a raft of executive decisions during his inaugural address.

Trump’s assumption to office has been described as an extra ordinary return to power after a comprehensive victory at the polls back on November 5th, 2024, when he beat Democratic candidate Kamala Harris with 312 to 226 electoral college vote.

Trump was sworn-in alongside running mate at the November election, Vice President JD Vance, a junior U.S senator from Ohio.

Before the swearing ceremony, the incumbent President and first lady, Joe Biden and Jill Biden welcomed Trump and his wife, Melania Trump at the White House, exchanging pleasantries and posing for photos ahead of the a private meeting over tea and coffee.

After the meeting Biden and Trump left the White House in the same vehicle for the Capitol building, where President Trump and Vice President JD Vance (Republicans) were sworn-in.

World leaders have sent messages congratulating Trump, including Pope Francis who sent a message for the inauguration, offering divine blessings upon the ”beloved American people” and President Trump and praying that the Lord will help guide efforts towards peace.

”I ask God to guide your efforts in promoting peace and reconciliation among peoples” the Pope prayed.

Russian President Putin, also officially congratulated Trump on taking office as President.
