Delta State Government to borrow N10 billion from CBN

WED, JULY 15 2020-theG&BJournal– The Delta State government is to access a N10 billion credit facilities from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for agricultural productivity which would attract a single digit interest rate, says the State’s Commissioner for Information Charles Aniagwu.
This was part of decisions reached at the seventh virtual Executive Council (EXCO) meeting attended by 47 members which was presided over by the state governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.
The credit facility according to the Commissioner, is to improve the state economy, the Commissioner said in a post EXCO briefing Tuesday in Asaba, Delta State capital.
Aniagwu said that the repayment of the CBN facility would be shouldered by the state government and two private sector investors, stressing that the state government needs 2,507 hectares of land to go into large scale cassava production.
