Delta Concessions Asaba International Airport, new managers to pay initial N1 billion to State Government

WED 24 FEB, 2021-theGBJournal- The Delta State Government Tuesday signed a concession agreement with Asaba Airport Company to run and manage the Asaba International Airport for the next 30 years.

The State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa during the concession signing ceremony disclosed that the Concessionaire will pay an annual fee of N100 million to the State and an initial sum of N1 billion on or before the close of business on the 15th day after the agreement is signed.

Okowa said the Concession was taken in the best interest of the people of the State. According to him, over N28 billion is expected to be spent on the airport’s development by the Concessionaire in the coming days, adding that the benefits to the state will include jobs, urban renewal, economic growth and tourism potential.
