TUE, JAN 09 2024-theGBJournal|Dangote refinery could begin test runs before the week runs out, sources close to the mega refinery say.
The $18.5 billion eco-friendly refinery, also has confirmed receipt of last 1 million barrels of crude oil to the refinery, suggesting it is ready to bring the 650, 000 barrels per day (bpd) refinery to life, and aiming to reach full capacity refining by year-end.
Dangote refinery, the biggest in Africa, also aims to become a major player in the petroleum production and supply chain in Africa, looking to help to tackle the difficulties associated with the sector in Nigeria, including unstable product pricing.
Analysts say the refinery, when it begins operation, opens the possibility of a genuine commercial market, a step forward in the country’s collective effort to making Nigeria a net exporter of petroleum products into the international market.
