WED AUG 14 2024-theGBJournal| Dangote Refinery Tuesday disowned remarks by the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) that it is to sell its petrol at N600/litre.
The owners of the multi billion dollars 650, 000 barrels per day refinery in Lagos said, in a statement signed by its Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, that they have never discussed price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) with IPMAN, and IPMAN have no mandate or authority to speak for them, ”either for good or with hidden transcript.”
Dangote Refinery was forced to issue the statement following a newspaper report that projecting N600/litre for its petrol if it gets the needed support. The report said the marketers believed the refinery would crash the price of petrol as it did with diesel.
The refinery consequently, urge the public to desist from such speculative announcements.
”We have our official channels through which we make our views known to our stakeholders,” Dangote said.
