WED, FEBRUARY 27 2019-theG&BJournal- Brian Egan has announced his resignation from the Board of Dangote Cement Plc. The 55 year old Irish accountant also quit his appointment as the chief financial officer (CFO) of the cement manufacturing giant.
Dangote Cement said Egan’s resignation is voluntary and in line with his desire to return and spend more time with his family.
Egan, a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland, joined Dangote Cement in 2014. The Board of Dangote Cement Plc extended their appreciation for what they called ‘’his valuable contributions and services to the company.’’
He had previously worked as the CFO of Petropavlovsk PLC and of Aricom PLC. Prior to joining Aricom, he was Chief Financial Officer of Gloria-Jeans Corporation, a leading Russian apparel manufacturer and retailer. He has more than 20 years’ international experience in senior financial roles with Associated British Foods PLC, Georgia-Pacific Ireland Limited and Coca-Cola HBC.
He also trained as an accountant with KPMG.
