WED, MARCH 25 2020-theG&BJournal- Prince Charles, 71 years old and the Prince of Wales has become the latest victim of the global pandemic, coronavirus (COVID-19). His wife has not tested positive, according to a statement issued today by the Buckingham Place.
The Palace say the Prince is in self isolation at the Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
‘’He has been displaying mild symptoms but otherwise but otherwise remains in good heaalthj and has been working from home throughout the last few days as usual.’’ A Clarence House spokesman said.
Reports from the UK say Parliament is set to shut tonight after emergency coronavirus laws go through. The disease has killed 335 and infected 6650 in the UK.
In Africa, 43 countries have reported cases and with positive cases now 2,412. 14 countries have reported a total of 64deaths- Countries (14) with recoveries (203): Algeria (77), Burkina Faso (5), Cameroon (2), Côte d’Ivoire (3), DRC (1), Egypt (80), Ethiopia (4), Ghana (1), Morocco (6), Nigeria (2), Senegal (8), South Africa (12), Togo (1), Tunisia (1).
The World Health Organisation has warned that the outbreak in the United States has the potential to exceed that in Europe and become the new epicentre of the pandemic. The country recorded its worst day Tuesday and total tally of confirmed cases have risen dramatically to more than 53,000 and over 700 deaths.
Total number of confirmed cases globally as at Wednesday March 25 2020 is 428, 400 cases with 19,100 deaths. Experts are woried and scared that the curve is not flattening but doubling everyday, an indication that the virus is cycling in many communities around the globe undetected.
