COVID-19 Update: Nigeria’s total confirmed cases now 36, 1 dead

    MON, MARCH 23 2020-theG&BJournal- Five new cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed in Nigeria, bringing the total to 35 and one death.
    The first COVID-19 death is a 67 year old Nigerian who died over night from corona virus following his return from medical treatment in the UK, NCDC said today.
    NCDC said he had underlying medical conditions-multiple myeloma and diabetes and was undergoing chemotherapy.
    Lagos has the highest number of reported cases in the country with 25 followed by the Federal Capital Territory 6, Ogun 2, Ekiti 1, Oyo 1 and Edo states 1. 33 of the cases are described as active cases by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). 2 have been discharged.
