FRI, MARCH 13 2020-theG&BJournal- The Minister of Health Dr E. O Ehanire announced Friday that the second confirmed COVID-19 case who was a contact of the index case, has now tested negative twice for the virus.
‘’He was cleared to go home,’’ the Minister said in a press briefing.
The Minister told the press that the index case’s health situation is improving. He said his medical team advises further tests early next week to guide the decision to discharge him.
The Minister said that the government is investing resources to strengthen Nigeria’s response.
‘’The WHO has now declared COVID-19 as a pandemic. This is a call for action for increased resources to quickly detect and control this outbreak. It is not a time for fear and panic,’’ he added.
