SAT, MARCH 21 2020-theG&BJournal-The Federal Capital Territory has recorded its first confirmed cases of coronavirus, Dr Osagie Ehanire said Saturday, who also announced the spike in the number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 10 new cases in the past 24 hours.
The country’s total confirmed coronavirus cases in now 22. Lagos 16, FCT 3, Ekiti 1 and Ogun 2. Two has been discharged according to the Minister of Health. He said all cases are clinically stable and receiving adequate care.
The confirmed FCT cases are said to be in University of Abuja Teaching Hospital in Gwagwalada for isolation and treatment.
In Lagos, the cases are being treated at the Infectious Disease Hospital, Lagos.
Health officials say Nigeria remains committed to working with states to provide optimal care for all confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country.
‘’Contact tracing is ongoing to identify all persons who have been with the new confirmed cases,’’ Ehanire said.
Meanwhile, the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) is urging all drivers of vehicles to carry one person at the front and not more than three in a row at the rear of the vehicle while motorcycles riders should carry only one person at a time so that occupants will be able to guard themselves and watch out for symptoms as they commute to their destinations.
