…State has over 1000 beds in six isolation centres
SAT, APRIL 04 2020-theG&BJournal- ‘’The new testing model is aimed at fast-tracking the number of tested patients and determine those that require immediate testing,’’ theG&BJournal in-house health experts explain.
Lagos State Government developed an innovative COVID-19 Test Request Form (docs.google.com) which can now be accessed online by Nigerians, and Lagos residents, who our reporters gather are growing anxious daily as the number of new confirmed cases climb in the state.
The state health officials say they are putting out the forms to widen the coverage ‘’as we track down COVID-19.’’
They are asking the respondents to provide accurate information as required in the form with the link COVID-19 Test Request Form docs.google.com.
Meanwhile, the State’s Commissioner of Health Professor Akin Abayomi have assured that the state have enough facilities to manage the situation.
‘’We also have enough Personnel Protection Equipment in stock for our health workers,’’ he said. He noted that much of the operation is carried out from the Mainland Hospital where they have 70% of the bed spaces available.
‘’Our isolation centres in Onikan Stadium and Gbagada Hospital will be opened next week; we believe this will provide additional 300-bed spaces and we are also considering establishing six more centres in the next one month depending on the rate of infection.’’
