According to Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, the Basket will stimulate the rapid procurement of equipment including ventilators and consumer goods, support social economic intervention for vulnerable groups as well as scaling up efforts on detection, isolation and contact tracing.
$1.4 million has been put into the basket so far, according to the National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Sanni Aliyu, with commodities coming in by the end of the week, including 50 ventilators.
The Fund is completely independent of government, no money will go to the Presidential Task Force or to the Federal Government-‘’all the donations will be in Kind-that is what we are encouraging,’’ Aliyu said during the Taskforce media briefing in Abuja today.
