Again, the numbers doubled in less than 48 hours and this has been the case since the beginning of the week and most health experts theG&BJournal speak to continues to sound the alarm that the numbers are going to explode in the coming days unless Nigerians begin to pay attention to the public health safety instructions ordered by the federal and state governments.
The Health Minister Dr E.O. Ehanire warned Thursday of the increase in the number of community transmission of the disease with its potential deadly consequences. And all these warnings are largely been ignored by ‘’stupid foolish Nigerians’’ who think COVID-19 is a child’s play.

‘’The deaths and new cases as well as the consequences of the huge number of people catching the coronavirus in Europe and the United States should be enough to self-discipline,’’ health experts say.
Our reporters in the past week has quietly observed citizens response to the stay at home order put in place by the federal government recently. Here is what we found: In Lagos State, the epicentre of the disease in Nigeria, people wantonly break all the rules of social distancing, they totally ignore the stay at home order, they play football on deserted streets and they gather around even in the early hours of the day to share a pint of beer and in the evenings, the city is bustling again, bars, local eateries and mini stores are packed full. Everybody is oblivious of the approaching impending doom and nobody cares about the disease.
