MON, JUN 15 2020-theG&BJournal- Surprisingly, Gombe State with 73 confirmed new cases topped the list of most infected State Sunday June 14 2020, the first time Lagos is toppled from the top. Lagos recorded just 68 cases, a step away from the usual hundreds counted every day. Kano had a total haul of 46 while the FCT and Edo states recorded 35 and 36 confirmed cases each.
420 patients have so far died while a total 5220 have been discharged.
Nigeria’s consistent spike in new coronavirus infections continues with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Sunday announcing additional 403 confirmed cases. More states equally saw their number of coronavirus infection spike.
Confirmed cases rose by 3,852 within one week to take nation’s total to 16,085. One month ago the country had a total count of just 5445 confirmed cases.
Health experts are warning that the number could double by the end of the month amid the obvious disregard to basic health precautions by many Nigerians.
