THUR, AUG 06 2020-theG&BJournal-Boss Mustapha, Chairman Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 Thursday announced the extension of COVID-19 protocols which are currently in place across the country for another four weeks, lending weight to recent comments by Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, the Nigeria Centre Disease Control (NCDC) Director General, that the country’s virus outbreak has not reached flattening levels yet.
The PTF boss announced the extension at the COVID-19 briefing after consent was given by President Muhammadu Buhari and following the report submitted to the President on Wednesday in Abuja, by the Task Force.
Meanwhile, the PTF has directed aviation officials and airline operators in the country to begin the process for resumption of international flights.
Major local airports are fully operational now while some like the Asaba airport is in the process of resumption and like passenger protocols for local flights, the PTF has directed that on resumption of international flights, passengers would have to arrive the airport three hours before flights.
