COVID-19 global Updates: Europe and US struggling to cope with victim count, global total confirmed cases over 775, 000

TUE, MARCH 31 2020-theG&BJournal- The continuing surge of confirmed coronavirus (COIVD-19) cases in Europe and the United States has forced talks of prolonged lockdown and countries and cities worst-hit by the pandemic are struggling to keep pace with death count.
COVID-19 deaths in the United States climbed 20, 000 Monday to well over 164,000 reported cases. It is now estimated that 82,141 people would die by August 4 2020. The number of recorded deaths has now surpassed 3000. The country now has the most confirmed cases in the world.
Spain now has more confirmed cases than China with 88, 000, according to John Hopkins University data, making the country the second highest in the world. In the country, 44% of the died was recorded in the last 4 days. 7, 340 have so far died in the country
In Italy, the government is extending the lockdown in place until April 12. Over 11, 591 people have died in the country from the deadly disease with 100, 000 confirmed cases.
In Germany, the Robert Koch Institute announced 583 have died. Total infections rose by 4, 615 Tuesday to take the overall count to 61, 913.  The tally brings Germany’s mortality rate up to 0.9 %. Bavaria and Baden-Wuerttemberg have the most recorded deaths, with a combined total of 327.
The UK’s fatalities is reported at 1, 408 Tuesday and number of cases is now more than 22, 000. Reports say the death cont could be more tomorrow as health officials begin count of deaths outside of hospitals for the first time.
