Cordros Group supports 200 children in the Slum2School programme

MON 10 MAY, 2021-theGBJournal- Two hundred students are set to receive educational relief packs from Cordros Group under the Slum2School program. This N1.8 Million commitment was disclosed during a presentation ceremony by Cordros Group at the Slum2School Innovation Hub in Lagos, recently.

According to Mr. Otto Orondaam, Founder/Executive Director of Slum2School, the support from Cordros helps Slum2School to make remarkable progress in supporting more underserved children across communities. Sandra Onyedum, Partnerships and Stakeholder Manager at Slum2School also confirmed that the 200 beneficiaries will receive the relief packs under the organisation’s Cluster Learning Program. She noted that the funds donated will be maximized to provide academic opportunities to underserved children across slums and remote communities.

While speaking during the presentation ceremony, Shola Bola-Audu, Director at Cordros Insurance Brokers Limited noted that Cordros is very deliberate about positively impacting the lives of young Nigerians by providing relevant financial literacy content, and promoting social inclusion. “In 2019, Cordros made a donation to Special Olympics to support Social Inclusion through sports. The staff of the Group also participated as players in a Special Olympics novelty match” she explained.

While speaking after the event, Cordros’ Marketing Communications Team Lead, Lanre Sonubi said education provides a foundation for the development and growth of any society. He added that “investments in education will provide the skills necessary for future generations to prosper. Cordros Group shall continue to engage in programmes and activities to support education such as financial literacy, mentorships, infrastructure development, skills development, and capacity building.” This is in line with the 4th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) of the United Nations which sets out to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
