TUE, JUNE 13 2023-theGBJournal |Charlie Robertson, the economist renowned for his acclaimed book, The Time-Travelling Economist, has switched from Renaissance Capital as the Global Chief Economist to FIM Partners UK Ltd as new Head of Macro Strategy.
”From the “sell-side” at Renaissance Capital (and ING before that) to the “buy-side” of FIM Partners. This basically means I’m more responsible for actually investing money, rather than just advising others how they might invest money,” Charlie says of new job.
FIM Partners focuses on Frontier and Emerging Markets, ”which are my vocation,” says the astute emerging and frontier market economists.
Charlie has written and commented extensively on emerging and frontier markets political economy and while focusing as well as on democratization to demographics and fertility in key hubs in the African continent including Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa.
He is also the lead author of the Fastest Billion: The Story Behind Africa’s Economic Revolution.
In 2021, he became the first non-African to receive the African Icon Award from the African Banker.
