FRI. 24 MARCH 2023-theGBJournal | Amid the biting Naira scarcity nationwide, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has directed all banks in the country to load their Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) as well conduct physical operations in the banking halls through the weekends, Saturdays and Sundays inclusive.
According to a statement by the Acting Director, Corporate Communications Department of the apex bank, Dr. Isa AbdulMumin Friday, a substantial amount of money, in various denominations, had been received by the commercial banks for onward circulation to their respective customers.
The CBN also confirmed the evacuation of banknotes from its vaults to the commercial banks across the country as part of coordinated efforts to ease the circulation of banknotes of various denominations.
The CBN said it will be monitoring compliance personally.
