WED APRIL 17 2024-theGBJournal|Nigeria is participating in a number of meetings to shape the global economic landscape at the ongoing IMF/World Bank Spring meetings in Washington this week.
In close coordination with Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, CBN Governor, Olayemi Cardoso began his day hosting more than a dozen leading IMTOs to a breakfast meeting, shortly followed by strategic deliberations with G-24 ministers and Central Bank governors.
Governor Cardoso also held insightful bilateral conversations with World Bank Group President, Ajay Banga, and World Bank Group Chief Economist, Indermit Gill, followed by fruitful discussions with the African Consultative Group Meeting.
Next in the day’s packed agenda: the IMF Money and Capital Markets Department Meeting.
Amongst today’s highlights, IMF’s Director of the African Department, Abebe Aemro Selassie, will be interviewing Governor Cardoso on how he has catalysed change through reforming monetary policy.
