WED MAY 01 2024-theGBJournal|Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, says development partners have a critical role to play in developing society, improving communities, and promoting citizen’s participation in the State.
The Deputy deputy Governor Professor Keletapwa George Faurata, made the comment, when officials from the Multi Sectoral Crisis Recovery Project paid her a visit in her office.
While addressing the officials led by Dr. Fuad Malkawi, the Deputy Governor reiterated government’s commitment as well as support towards providing more enabling environment for continued execution of community development projects.
Professor Farauta, also emphasised that government will continue to provide enabling environment for the development partners to be able to implement their developmental projects which goes hand in hand with governments developmental policies and programs.
The Deputy Governor, who made case on projects that is aimed at alleviating the plight of Women and Youths, said government is keen on programs targeting such segment of the society emphasizing that building and empowering women and youths guarantees healthy as well as a secured society.
Leader of the delegation Dr. Fuad Malkawi earlier said MCRP primary mandate is to build resilience, reconstruct and rehabilitate the insurgency affected communities in Adamawa with focus on internally displaced persons and the host communities.
According to Malkawi, the Multi Sectoral Crisis Recovery Project is a World Bank assisted project aimed at supporting government of Nigeria towards rehabilitating and improving critical service delivery infrastructure, enhance livelihood opportunities of the conflict and displacement affected communities.
He appreciated Adamawa State Government for creating enabling environment for the success of such development projects, in an effort to bridge the gap between humanitarian support.
