ABUJA MARCH 10, 2017 – Although President Buhari is back in the country, he is not ready to resume work yet, and his vice, Yemi Osinbajo is to continue as acting president.
Buhari returned to Nigeria Friday morning, after spending about 50 days on an extended medical vacation.
The president on his return informed that his deputy will continue to be in charge for the time being until he is ready to return to work.
He stated this while meeting with officials that welcomed him back to the country, saying, “I will continue to rest”,
He, however, did not state when he would resume his duties, adding that with or without him, Nigeria will continue.
He is quoted to have also said, “I couldn’t recall being so sick since I was a young man, including in the military with its ups and downs”.
The president also asked those planning to visit him in whatever capacity to shelves such ideas for now, as he intends to continue his rest, even though he is back in Nigeria.
He also hinted that there are follow-ups he needs to do concerning his medical treatments.
