….French President Macron lauds Abdul Samad Rabiu

WED 14 APRIL, 2021-theGBJournal- BUA GROUP, fully-fledged, diversified business with a stake in a wide range of business sectors and Axens of France today signed a progress acknowledgement statement for BUA’s proposed 200,000 bpd refinery in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.

The French Minister for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness, Franck Riester, who paid a visit to the BUA Group Headquarters witnessed the signing of the progress acknowledgment statement of the refinery which is expected to be in full commercial operation by 2024.

The contract for the refinery was signed in September 2020 in France between the Chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu and Jean Sentenac, CEO of Axens, in a ceremony presided over by Franck Riester.

Meanwhile, the French President, Emmanuel Macron, has commended the Samad Rabiu for his commitment to developing lasting relationships between French and Nigerian businesses.

This came as Minister Riester paid a visit to the BUA Group Headquarters in Lagos Nigeria where he handed over a personal invitation from President Macron to Rabiu to attend the Choose France Summit in June in Paris representing business leaders from Nigeria and Africa.

During the visit, it was also announced that the Chairman of BUA Group, Rabiu had been appointed Chairman of the France Nigeria Investment Club.
