WED 06 JAN, 2021-theGBJournal- The United State’s Capitol Building has been breached by President Donald Trump’s supporters seeking to stop the certification of President-elect Joe Biden’s victory in November 2020 U.S election.
The protest follows weeks of seditious tweets by Trump who claimed he won the election that was clearly won by Democrat Joe Biden. Trump spent weeks in court trying and failing to overturn the results in George, Pennsylvania as well as Arizona.
Washington D.C Mayor has ordered a 6pm curfew as the supporters grew more vicious and the D.C police out-numbered by the mob.
The Vice President Mike Pence was in the building presiding over the certification of the election which many Republicans objected to in the Senate Chamber. Pence was later removed from the Chamber and the certification exercise suspended while the Lawmakers were equally evacuated from the House floor as Trump supporters continued to surge into the Capitol Building.
Earlier, Pence refused to block Congress from certifying the Electoral College results to formally confirm Joe Biden as the next President of the United States of America.
Trump attacked Pence in a tweet in the middle of the Capitol breach, saying that ‘’Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our country and our constitution.’’
