FRI MAY 24 2024-theGBJournal| The Board of Berger Paints Nigeria Plc (BPN), has approved the appointment of Mrs. Alaba Fagun as the Company’s Group Managing Director (GMD), from current role as Managing Director.
Board of Berger Paints said in a statement today Fagun has demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic vision in her current role as
the Managing Director, significantly contributing to the Company’s success.
Mrs Fagun, a member of the Institute of Directors (IOD), became the first female Managing Director of Berger Paints Nigeria PLC when she was elevated to the position on October 4th, 2022.
”In recognition of these achievements, she will be taking on an expanded role within the Organisation,” Berger Paints Board said.
According to the Board, ”this new role will encompass additional responsibilities, including oversight of Swift Painting Nigeria Limited (our subsidiary). By leveraging her expertise and experience, the Board is confident that Alaba will drive further innovation and operational excellence to the Group.”
She is a real estate professional who started out as an architect, and has since garnered over 23 years of experience in the real estate sector having been involved in commercial, residential, institutional, and financial-based projects.
She holds a Bachelors of Environmental Science and Bachelor of Architecture (Distinction) degrees from the University of Lagos.
She was the founding Managing Director of UPDC facility Management Limited, and held positions as Head of Facilities Management and Head, Major Projects at Union Bank of Nigeria Plc as well as Senior Manager Properties at Brall Services Limited, Lagos.
