SUN, NOV 05 2023-theGBJournal|The candidate of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) in the 2023 governorship election in Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri took his final constituency campaign rally to Yenagoa Constituency One.

The people of Epie-Atissa came out in their numbers despite the heavy downpour to give the PDP campaign trail a rousing reception.

The communities visited were Igbogene, Agudama, Opolo, Kpansia, Agbura, Obogoro, Famgbe, Yenagoa, and Amarata.

At Igbogene, the two Kingdoms conferred a chieftaincy title of “Otoroto Ibe” meaning the “Moonlight” of Epie/Atissa on the Governor.

Former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, appeared in Igbogene to join the campaign trail at the same period King Malla Sasime, the Obenibe II of Epie Kingdom received Governor Diri.

In his remarks, Gov. Diri thanked Epie-Atissa people for always supporting PDP in all elections since 1999.

He assured the people of his government sustained developmental strides when voted for second tenure.

Visiting Dr. Saraki joined Governor Diri to inaugurate the new Government Science and Technical College, Swali.

Different Epie-Atissa leaders who spoke at the rally promised to deliver 100% for PDP. They affirmed that the governor has been good to Epie-Atissa people.

Dignitaries at the rally are; Hon. Mitema Obordor, DG of the campaign council, Hon. Oforji Oboku, Senator Paulker Emmanuel, Hon. Ayibanengiyefa Egba, Mr. Lambert Ototo, Dr. Patterson Ogon, Chief Diekivie Ikiogha, Mr. Gifted Natus and host of others.
