Bayelsa State Government, Dubai based JAMPUR Group sign MOU on renewable energy, smart meters production plant

THUR SEPT 04 2025-theGBJournal| The Bayelsa State government has signed a memorandum of understanding with JAMPUR Group for the establishment of a solar panel and smart electric meter manufacturing plants in the State.

The investment valued at $3 million, would be financed solely by the conglomerate.

‎Bayelsa State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Biriyai Dambo, SAN, signed the agreement on behalf of government while Bello Abdulahi signed on behalf of JAMPUR Group.

‎In his remarks, Governor Diri expressed delight that a reputable investor like JAMPUR group was coming to the state to invest in renewable energy and that the new electricity investments will generate employment for the people and make the state an Energy Hub.

‎While assuring the company of the state government’s corporation, Governor Diri urged the commissioner for Power and the Managing Director of the state electricity company to ensure citizens are trained in technical areas to make acquire new skills to be self-reliant.

‎”First, it is a delight that, what we have been dreaming and pursuing investors for, outside the chores of this country are right here with us.

‎And so today, we have very reputable investors known all over the world, that provides power to our Abuja and Lagos international airports.

‎This is same company that is supplying our Gas Turbines, and for the past four months, working with our team here to prepare where the Turbines will be installed.

‎As a government, we assure you of our cooperation and sustaining this relationship, that Bayelsa will become an Energy Hub, and particularly, Renewable Energy,” Governor Diri stated.

Jampur Group is based in Dubai, UAE and operate globally through a network of local offices and associates in all major markets of Africa, Europe, and Asia.

The company which built a 8 MW Power Plant at the Abuja International Airport in 2019, have a focused but diversified portfolio with a large amount of present and potential investments in Aviation, Shipping, Power, Mining, Equipment.
