Aviation Minister Hadi Sirika reveals ownership structure of proposed new National carrier, the Nigeria Air

THUR 25 NOV, 2021-theGBJournal- The Hon. Minister of Aviation Sen. Hadi Sirika has reaffirmed the feasibility for the take-off of National carrier (Nigeria Air) in April, 2022, saying the process has already started when the brand and label was launched in 2018 at Farmborough Air Show in the UK.

The Minister stated this at a media briefing held in his office today.

He said the National Carrier, yesterday got a boost after the Federal Executive Council approved the Outlines Business Case for the airlines.

The Minister also outlined the ownership structure of the new carrier. He revealed that 51% will be owned by Nigerians and then 49% will be held by strategic equity partner/partners.

‘’If started, within the first few years will generate about 70,000 jobs. This Airline will start on or before April 2022,” Sirika said.
